Part 1 — It’s back

Every Gulf crew has a quiet stretch of water that feels wrong — wind dies, boat chatter stops, and somebody cracks a joke about what’s under the hull. This short leans into that joke. The first half is the return: a shape that doesn’t match gag, grouper, or amberjack. No GPS, no “secret ledge,” just atmosphere and scale.

In real life, Tide & Trail dives are about structure, visibility, and FWC seasons. In this clip, the “structure” is myth — the ocean’s oldest apex rumor given a modern trailer beat.

Part 2 — Close encounter

Part two closes the gap. Less horizon, more teeth and pressure — the “too close for comfort” half of the campfire story. It’s the moment after the joke when nobody laughs for half a second.

We cut both pieces into one continuous watch so the story reads beginning → punchline without a swipe.

What’s real vs. entertainment

Entertainment: Megalodon in the fossil record went extinct millions of years ago. This short is cinema / viral ocean culture, not a claim about living meg in the Gulf.

Real Tide & Trail: trip reports, species guides, and Free PDFs stay grounded — verify FWC, no invented marks, real weekends from Tifton out to the Forgotten Coast and beyond.
